Sue is an award-winning filmmaker who is deeply passionate about human rights and equality. Her film and television work includes writing, producing, and directing several successful ABC documentaries, including BOYS AND BALLS, THE FIFTH SET and THE LAST GREAT AMATEURS.
Her recent feature documentaries include CARELESS (MIFF Audience Award 2025; Netflix), UNDER COVER (narrated by Margot Robbie, ABC iview; Netflix), THE COMING BACK OUT BALL MOVIE (closing night film MIFF 2018; Netflix, Docplay) and TEMPEST AT THE DROP-IN (2013).
Sue is currently filming her next feature documentary, PRIMARY SCHOOL about the importance of public education.

In 2025 Careless won the Intrepid Audience Award at Melbourne International Film Festival. Careless screened nationally in cinemas, has toured the country in partnership with Violet, and has had 30+ community screenings (and counting!). The film is now streaming on Netflix and continues to offer to ongoing community screenings.
Under Cover screened nationally in cinemas, has had 100+ community screenings (and counting!). The film has also been screened in the Australian federal parliament and a number of state parliaments, played in 11 universities and has been watched by over 2 million viewers on Deutsche Welle and the ABC. The film continues making impact through Netflix, ABC iview and ongoing community screenings.
The Coming Back Out Ball Movie screened nationally, was the closing night gala film of Melbourne International Film Festival, and screened on Netflix and is now available on DocPlay.
